ART LAWYERS ASSOCIATION
ABOUT THE ART LAWYERS ASSOCIATION
The Art Lawyers Association has been formed in 2023 with a simple objective - to promote the study and practice of law in the context of the art world. Its membership is composed of established lawyers from the museum world, from the auction world and from private practice.

While headquartered in London our objective is for the membership to be global, including art lawyers from all countries.

Our aim is to build strong and friendly relationships between the leading practising lawyers in our field, and to provide a means for aspiring art lawyers to connect and learn more about this field.

Membership of the Association is selective. To become a Full Member you must, in the opinion of the Association Board, have an established track record of practice in the field of Art Law. Associate and Academic Memberships are available for lawyers or students who have not yet built up a sufficient track record but are interested in the discipline of art law.

While access to the Association website and its content is open to members and non-members our virtual and physical events are generally members-only.

We hope that the Art Lawyers Association will become a central hub for art lawyers across the world to exchange views and information, share news and advocate on behalf of the cultural world.
